Mr. SAMUEL C. PALMER, cashier of the Commercial National Bank, died on Wednesday, at his residence in this city, of typhoid fever, in the seventieth year of his age. He entered the Commercial National Bank in 18*3, and was its cashier for over twenty-three years. He was a gentleman of cultivated intelligence, and was well knows for his personal and official integrity.

JOHN W. PLATT, a yarn manufacturer, died Friday at his home, 436 Seville street, Boxborough. His death was attributed to heart disease. Mr. Platt was born in West Philadelphia in 1852 and was educated in the public schools of that section. He succeeded his father in the yarn business, which the latter had established early in the last century. Mr. Platt was a trustee of the Wissahickon Methodist Episcopal Church, of which he was a charter member. The funeral will be held Tuesday.

JOHN WOOD PLATT.- aged 64 years, of the firm of A. Platt & Brother, manufacturers of woolen goods at Manayunk, died yesterday morning at his home, Suinac street and Jeanette avenue, Wissahickon. Mr. Platt got on a train at Shurs Lane Station on Saturday, intending to go to Atlantic City, but was taken suddenly ill at Wissahickon. He was removed to his home in a carriage, and died from Neuralgia of the heart the next day. Mr. Platt was a native of England, and came to this country to settle at Chester in 1856. Ten years late he started in the manufacturing business with his brother at Manayunk, and continued in the same firm to the time of his death. He was one of the leading Members of the Wissahickon Methodist Church and contributed largely to the building fund.

EMMA L. PRESCOTT, 92, Danube Way, Orlando, died Thursday, Nov 16, of respiratory failure, Mrs. Prescott was a homemaker. Born in Philadelphia, she moved to Central Florida in 1985. She was Episcopalian. Survivors: daughters, Emma Pica, Florence Ravenal, Orlando, Alma, Woodbridge, N.J., Anna Hulick, Eleanor Gilbert both of Brown Mills, NJ; son, Edward, Bryant, Texas; 29 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren.
