A Veteran's Funeral
John Kelly, died on Monday evening after an illness of two weeks of pneumonia; at his residence, No 1114 South Seventeenth street, aged 52 years. He was a veteran of the late civil war having served in the Ninety-fifth Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers. At the time of his enlistment he was only 17 years of age and he and his father served side by side during their services of three years. His father, who still lives at the age of 83 , served in the Mexican War. Mr Patterson was a member of Patterson Post No 275, G.A.R. of the Union Veterans Legion of the Survivors Association Ninety-fifth Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers and of the Second Regiment N.G.P. since about the close of the war. A widow and six children survive him.

Mrs. Elizabeth A. Knowles, who died on Tuesday in Atlantic City, aged 87 years, was the widow of Levi Knowles, a prominent Philadelphia merchant of half a century ago.
