Hostetter Cemetery




The Hostetter cemetery is located along a farm lane off Route 322, west of Fontana. The entrance to the farm lane is 0.4 mile east of Mt. Pleasant road. The farm lanes lies to the south of Route 322, and the cemetery is located 0.7 mile down the farm lane.

A map of the grave markers is shown below. An * indicates a field stone bearing no inscription. A letter indicates a grave marker bearing an inscription. Unless otherwise indicated, all grave markers are tombstones. An list of inscriptions follows.

The inscriptions listed below are based primarily upon personal visits during the Summer of 1993. A list of inscriptions was prepared by David J. Bachman in 1980; this list is on file at the Lebanon County Historical Society, Lebanon, PA. In most cases, my observations are in good agreement with those of David Bachman. Where differences existed, the earlier readings by David Bachman are listed, except where I was able to very clearly and accurately read the inscription. Uncertain readings are reported within brackets, [ ?].
