Stirling Cemetery - German Twp.

Compiled by Scot Novak

The Stirling Cemetery located in German Township is on Browns Run near Masontown PA. Originally the farm was owned by Robert Harrison who came to Fayette County along with his father, Charles Harrison, and brother John Harrison, in the 1770's. Charles Harrison was a brother to Lawrence Harrison that settled in Connellsville PA. Lawrence's daughter, Catherine, was married to Isaac Meason, Ironmaster. When Robert Harrison died, the farm went to his son Robert, then sold to Jos. Sterling (Stirling), a grand-son-in-law, and then to Alfred Bare. It is now owned by the Martin family, descendents of Robert Harrison. J. V. Thompson tried to purchase the Cemetery because his 1st wife Mary was a great-granddaughter of Robert and Nancy Harrison.
