Old Jewish Cemetery - Brownsville

Compiled from records by E. M. Whetsel

Directions: There are four cemeteries grouped together south of the intersection of Broad Street and York Street in Brownsville. St Nicholas Byzantine Catholic is in the north corner of the group. St Mary's Roman Catholic is southeast of St Nicholas and extends further southwest than St Nicholas. The dividing line is along somewhat of a treeline with the tombstones facing the appropriate cemetery. In the southern corner of St Mary's is the section known as Old Jewish. The tombstones here are enclosed by chain-link fences. Southwest of St Nicholas and St Mary's and not as well maintained is Woodlawn. Again there is a treeline separating St Mary's from Woodlawn.
