Mt. Sterling Cemetery - German Twp.

Transcribed from tombstones by Ken O'Neal

Directions: From the intersection of Main Street (Rt 166) and Church Street in Masontown, go north on Main Street 0.6 miles and merge right on Rt 21. Go 4.1 miles and turn left on Bukovitz Farm Road. Go 0.1 miles and bear right onto the gravel road to the Messmore Rod & Gun Club. Go about 100 feet and the gravestones are along the left side of the gravel road for about another 200 feet. It appears that the road was built over part of cemetery. All stones found are fairly recent. Recorded February 18, 2004. Further research in 2006, by Patricia Lubits-Gump and Dawne Temple, indicate that this is an African American cemetery.
