Miner Cemetery-Springfield Township
Compiled by Ken O'Neal
From Normalville, PA, take RT 381 toward Ohiopyle. Just leaving
Normalville, turn left on RT 653. Go 5/10 mile and turn left on Wildwood
Rd. Go 6/10 mile, and the cemetery is on the left in a field behind the
barn.
There are not many stones to be seen, but there are more graves than
stones. Stones of 5 members of the Kern family (William Sr., William Jr.,
George, Peter, and Michael) have been moved to the Normalville Cemetery,
but the bodies remain in this cemetery. Stones for their wives could not
be found. There are 7 unmarked fieldstones in a row. Seven Kern children
died from smallpox, but stones for them are in Normalville Cemetery. It is
not known, if these stones, or the ones in Normalville, are the children's
original stones.
