Miner Cemetery - Springfield Twp.

Transcibed from tombstones by Ken O'Neal

Directions: From the intersection of Rt 711 and Rt 381 in Normalville, go south of Rt 381 0.2 miles and turn left on Rt 653 (Jim Mountain Road). Go 0.5 and turn left on Wildwood Rd. Go 0.6 miles and the cemetery is on the left under a group of trees behind the barn. Get permission at the house just before arriving at the barn.

There are not many stones to be seen, but there are more graves than stones. Stones of 5 members of the Kern family (William Sr., William Jr., George, Peter, and Michael) have been moved to the Normalville Cemetery, but the bodies remain in this cemetery. Stones for their wives could not be found. There are 7 unmarked fieldstones in a row. Seven Kern children died from smallpox, but stones for them are in Normalville Cemetery. It is not known, if these stones, or the ones in Normalville, are the children's original stones.
