Grimm Family Cemetery - Springfield Twp.

Transcribed from tombstones by Ken O'Neal, 1999

Directions: Take RT 711 out of Connellsville toward Normalville. About 2-3 miles, after topping the second hill of the Springfield Pike (two long steep hills), turn right on Mt. Tabor Road. Stay on it until you reach Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Turn left onto George Grimm Rd. Go 2/10 mile and turn right onto dirt road. Go about 100 yards to a field, turn left. Go along edge of field to second field, look to your right. You will see several pine trees, cemetery is under pines. There are not as many stones as I was lead to believe but many markers were wood and are now gone. Watch for poison ivy, there is lots of it. Get permission at first house on right after you pass road to cemetery.

Some of the following data came from the few tombstones found in 1999. Many of the markers are wooden and the paint has washed away, some are granite and several unmarked graves only have fieldstones. Other information came from the librarian at the Connellsville Library who showed me a book of cemetery listings recorded in 1958 and from a Grimm family Bible.
