FUNERALS

Dorothy Mary HUNSICKER, daughter of Miles S. HUNSICKER and his wife, Carrie H., nee BASHORE, was born June 26, 1921, at Myerstown, Pa., and was baptized December 25, 1921, by Rev. Klick.  She died April 3, 1925, aged 3 years, 9 months, 7 days.  She is survived by her parents, 2 sisters and a brother.  The funeral was held April 7 in Salem church. Text, Mt. 10:29-31.

Percival M. HAAG, son of Jonathan HAAG and his wife Leah, nee MILLER, was born April 16, 1854, and was baptized April 20, 1854, by Rev. Dietzler.  He was confirmed April 20, 1871, in Zion church by Rev. A. Finfrock.  Me was married to Emma LEITNER by Rev. Finfrock June 1, 1872.  He died April 17, 1925, at Pottsville, Pa., aged 71 years, 1day.  He is survived by 3 sons, 1 daughter, 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, and 4 sisters.  The funeral took place April 21 in Zion church.  Text, Eccl. 7:2.

Mrs. Katie Estella RUPP, nee LESHER, a daughter of John R. LESHER and his wife Katie, nee EPTING, was born August 3, 1900, in Centre township.  She was baptized in infancy and was confirmed in St. Michaels by Rev. L.R. Miller.  She was married to Franklin RUPP Sept. 23, 1921, by Rev. George.  She died April 18, 1925, at Reading, aged 24 years, 8 months, 15 days.  She is survived by her husband, a son, her father, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.  The funeral was held April 22, from Seidel’s chapel, Readint.  Interment at Christ, Little Tulpehocken church.  Text, Jer. 15:9.

Samuel SCHLAPPIG, a son of Samuel SCHLAPPIG and his wife Susanna, nee TROUTMAN, was born Nov. 11, 1848 in Tulpehocken township and was baptized Nov. 14, 1848, by Rev. Mayser.  He was confirmed in Reed’s church by Rev. Ulrich.  He was married to Emma E. SCHWERE Nov. 10, 1886, by Rev. Finfrock.  He died May 11, 1925, aged 76 years, 6 months.  He is survived by 3 sons, 2 daughters, 1 sister, 3 half brothers, 1 half sister, 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  The funeral was held May 16 in Salem church.  Mark 13:35.

Mrs. Sallie Rebecca GRAEFF, nee HOLLENBACH, daughter of John W. HOLLENBACH and his wife Emma P., nee SMITH, was born June 15, 1884, in Upper Tulpehocken township and was baptized August 3, 1884, by Rev. Finfrock.  She was confirmed October 6, 1900, by Rev. Kramlich in Zion church.  She was married to Allison GRAEFF April 5, 1902, by T.C. Leinbach.  She died May 18, 1925, aged 40 years, 10 months, 28 days.  She is survived by her husband, her parents, 4 daughters, 2 sons, 2 sisters, 2 brothers and 1 grandchild.  The funeral was held on May 21 in Zion church. II Cor. 4:17-18.

Margaret May WAGNER, daughter of Lester H. WAGNER and his wife Katie C., nee DEGLER, was born January 6, 1919, at Womelsdorf, Pa., and was baptized April 18, 1919, by Rev. Laudenslager.  She died June 3, 1925, aged 6 years, 5 months, 27 days.  She is survived by her parents, 2 sisters and 3 grandparents.  The funeral was held June 6 in Zion Reformed church, Womelsdorf.  Text, Mk. 10:14.

Mrs. Annie S. RENTZ, wife of Irvin RENTZ, daughter of Daniel K. HENNE, and his wife Harriet, nee SCHOCK, was born March 10, 1874.  She died June 5, 1925, aged 51 years, 2 months, 25 days.  Her remains were brought from her home in Wayne, Pa., The funeral took place June 9, in Friedens church. Text, I Thess. 4:17-18.

Mrs. Rebecca NEISWENDER, daughter of Jefferson JONES and his wife Elizabeth, nee [unreadable…could be MOLL], was born July 2, 1840, in Bethel twonship, and wa baptized August 14, 1840, by Rev. Ulrich.  She was confirmed May 30, 1857, in the Rehrersburg church by Rev. Eggers.  She was married to John NEISWENDER Nov. 5, 1859, by T.C. Leinbach.  She died June 8, 1925, aged 84 years, 11 months, 6 days.  She is survived by 2 sons, 2 daughters, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.  The funeral was held June 13 in Salem church.  Text, Acts 13:48.

Adam Darius RICHARD, son of Joeph S. RICHARD and his wife Eva Maria, nee BATTEICHER, was born Feb. 3, 1861in Jefferson township and was baptized March 4, 1861, by Rev. Zehring.  He was confirmed March 30, 1877, in Christ church by Rev. Trexler.  He was married to Cassia M. SNYDER, Oct. 27, 1883, by Rev. Long.  He died June 17, 1925, aged 64 years, 4 months, 24 days.  He is survived by his wfe, a daughter, 3 sons, 3 grandchildren and 2 half sisters.  The funeral was held July 2, in Christ church. The funeral for Daniel HART took place at Friedens church, where he was laid aside of his wife.  He was an old soldier of the Civil War.  No particulars were furnished concerning his life, and therefore none can be given here.

Abraham KEIM, son of Benjamin KEIM and his wife Elizabeth, nee SNYDER, was born July 17, 1843, in Windsor township and was baptized Sept. 3, 1843, by Rev. S. Herman.  He was confirmed in Zion church, Perry township March 17, 1861, by Rev. J.S. Herman.  He married Sarah MENGEL May 11, 1867, Rev. Aug. Herman officiating.  He died August 21, 1925, aged 82 years, 1 month, 4 days.  He is survived by his wife, 3 daughters, 1 son, 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 brothers.  The funeral was held August 25 in Zion church.  Text, Heb. 4:9.

Mrs. Kate CHRIST, daughter of Michael SCHADE and his wife, Eliza, nee HENNE, was born Nov. 24, 1878, in Upper Tulpehocken township, and was baptized March 19, 1879, by Rev. Cressman.  She was confirmed in Friedens church, Bernville, by Rev. Cressman.  She was married to Samuel T. CHRIST January 11, 1896, by Rev. M. Good.  she died Sept. 21, 1925, aged 46 years, 9 months, 27 days.  She is survived by her husband, her son, 2 grandchildren and 1 brother.  The funeral took place Sept. 25, in Zion church.  Is. 38.1.

William H. SCHAEFFER, son of Joseph SCHAEFFER and his wife Lydia, nee HIMMELBERGER, was born Nov. 4, 1841, in Tlpehocken township, and was baptized Feb. 13, 1842, by Rev. Harpel.  He was confirmed in Little Tulpehocken church May 7, 1859, by Rev. H. Grahn.  He was married to Sarah HEISTER Nov. 2, 1867, by Rev. Steck.  He died Nov. 15, 1925, at Myerstown, Pa., aged 84 years and 11 days.  He is survived by a daughter, 4 grandchildren, 1 brother and 3 half brothers.  The funeral took place Nov. 19 in St. Paul’s church.  Text, Prov.10:28.

Mary Ann MENGEL, daughter of Isaac MENGEL and his wife Susanna, nee BIEBER, was born July 16, 1839, in Maidencreek township and was baptized in infancy.  She was confirmed in St. Peter’s church.  She died Nov. 19, 1925, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Abraham KEIM, at shich place the funeral was held Nov. 24.  She is survived by her sister.  Interment was made in Zion cemetery.  Text, Is. 46:4.

Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth STOUDT, daughter of George HOLBEY and his wife Mary, nee BICKEN, was born at Shenandoah, Pa., March 28, 1885, and was baptized in infancy.  She joined the Methodist church at Shenandoah.  she was married to David S. STOUDT Nov. 23, 1911, by Rev. Reed.  She died Nov. 30, 1925, aged 40 years, 8 months, 2 days.  She is survived by her husband, 2 daughters, 4 sons and 1 sister.  The funeral was held Dec. 5 in Friedens church.  Text, Jn. 17:11.

George HAAG, son of Emmanuel HAAG and his wife Sallie, nee FEEG, was born April 20, 1853, in N. Heidelberg township.  He died Dec. 17, 1925, aged 72 years, 7 months, 29 days.  He is survived by 1 brother and 4 sisters.  The funeral was held at his home Dec. 22, 1925.  Interment was at Christ church cemetery.  Text, I Samuel 20:3.

Earl W. DEGLER, son of John A. DEGLER and his wife Susan M., nee WAGNER, was born May 17, 1898, in Upper Tulpehocken township, and was baptized July 17, 1898, by Rev. Kramlich.  He was confirmed Oct. 18, 1913, in Zion church by Rev. L.R. Miller.  He died Dec. 24, 1925, aged 27 years, 7 months, 7 days.  He is survived by his parents and 2 brothers.  The funeral was held Dec. 30 in Zion church.  Text, II Cor. 6:2.

Eugene Richard BRUBAKER, son of Grant Robert BRUBAKER and his wife Minnie M., nee HUMMEL, was born Sept. 24, 1925, at Rehrersburg, Pa., and was baptized Nov. 8, 1925, by Rev. J. Lewis Fluck.  He died Jan. 1, 1926, aged 3 months, 8 days.  He is survived by his parents.  The funeral was held Jan. 5, in Trinity church.  Text, Mk. 10:14.

Sarah Elizabeth RENTSCHLER, daughter of William RENTSCHLER and his wife Elizabeth, nee KAUFMAN, was born May 17, 1846, in Upper Bern township and was baptized in infancy by Rev. Smith.  She was confirmed in St. Michael’s church by Thos. Jaeger.  She died Jan. 1, 1926, aged 79 years, 7 months, 11 days.  She is survived by 3 nieces and 1 nephew to whom she was a good mother.  The funeral was held Jan. 6, in Friedens church.  Rom. 6:23.

Daniel F. PEARSON, son of Amos PEARSON and his wife Susanna, nee FINK, was born Dec. 26, 1850, in Upper Bern township and was baptized Mar. 9. 1851, by Rev. Schmidt.  He was confirmed Mar. 28, 1868, in St. Michael’s church by Rev. Zweizig.  He was married to Rosa Anna STERZEL Jan. 10, 1888, by Rev. Zweizig.  He died Jan. 6, 1926, aged 75 years, 10 days.  He is survived by his wife, 6 sons, 3 daughters, 3 grandchildren.  The funeral was held in Friedens church Jan. 10.  Text, Acts 13:43.

Mrs. Caroline  SEYFERT, daughter of Samuel WAGNER nd his wife Esther, nee HENNE, was born Jan. 15, 1848, in Upper Bern township and was baptized in infancy by Rev. Schmidt.  She was confirmed in 1864 in St. Michael’s church by Rev. Jaeger.  She was married to Franklin H. SEYFERT, Jan. 23, 1875.  She died Jan. 31, 1926, aged 78 years, 16 days.  She is survived by 2 daughters, 9 grandchildren and 1 brother.  The funeral was held Feb. 5 in Friedens church.  Text, I. Tim. 6:12.

Mrs. Sallie B. BURKEY, nee RENNO, was born Aug. 6, 1866, in Tulpehocken township.  She was baptized, confirmed, and married [month & day unreadable] 1884, by Rev. T.C. Leinbach.  She was married to Emmanuel B. BURKEY.  She died Feb. 22, 1926, aged 39 years, 6 months and 16 days.  She is survived by her husband, 2 daughters, 1 son, 2 grandchildren, 3 sisters and 2 step-sisters.  The funeral was held in Zion church Feb. 27.  Mt. 20:8.

Mrs. Polley SCHLAPPICH, nee WAGNER, daughter of Ephraim R. WAGNER and his wife Louisa, nee MILLER, wa born Aug. 1, 1863, in Upper Bern township and was baptized Nov. 8, 1863, by Rev. Joel Grimm.  She was confirmed in Friedens church by Rev. D.D. Trexler, March 29, 1879.  She was married to Franklin S. SCHLAPPICH Oct. 15, 1881, by Rev. Trexler.  She died Feb. 25, 1926, aged 62 years, 6 months, 24 days.  She is survived by her husband, 4 sons, 4 daughters, 19 grandchildren and 5 sisters.  The funeral was held March 2, in Friedens church.  Text, Is. 66:13.

Mrs. Amanda BAESHORE, nee HAAK, daughter of Isaac HAAK and his wife Catherine, nee BINNER, was born Nov. 19, 1853, in Bethel township and was baptized Dec. 18, 1853, by Rev. C.H. Leinbach.  She was confirmed in Salem church March 28, 1872, by Rev. Trexler.  She was married to Levi BAESHORE Aug. 22, 1874, by Rev. Leinbach.  There were 12 children.  She died Mar. 1, 1926, aged 72 years, 3 months, 12 days.  She is survived by her husband, 4 daughters, 4 sons, 24 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 1 sister.  The funeral took place March 5 in Salem church.  Text, Is. 38:1.
