WALK UNABOWED PROJECT

  • This ongoing project is an attempt to preserve and publish the names of slaves in Franklin County and also serve as an opportunity to provide better access to records pertaining to slavery in the county so that their names and legacies can live on for future generations to discover.

  • Franklin County began registering deaths in 1894. The Archives holds death registers from 1894 to 1906. For deaths after 1906, you will need to contact the Pennsylvania Division of Vital Records.

  • The families of Fredrick and Nicholas Lincks who emigrated from France and were born in Niederbetschdorf, Bas Rhin, Alsace, France. It contains the records of their ancestors to their descendants of which one was my mother Elva Rose Lincks. The Lincks name varied from the immigration records and census enumerators as Lincks, Links, Lynx, Linck, and Link. The Coyle Museum has an article that confirms Fredrick and Nicholas as brothers. The following work cannot be copied for other purposes that would result in monetary considerations and can only be copied for personal records. Please, post any unauthorized use will not be done without a written confirmation by me. Thank you,
