Many of these families had properties before the formation of Allegheny County and Fayette County and therefore may be shown on the above Counties grant maps. The original boundaries of Rostraver Twp: "Beginning at the mouth of Jacobs Creek, and running down the Youghogheny to where it joins the Monongahela; then up the said Monongahela to the mouth of Redstone Creek; and thence with a straight line to the beginning."
