Piatt Family Cemetery

Submitted by Susan Jaffer

I visited this very old, extremely overgrown cemetery today. Only one stone is still standing, although a neighbor told me there are fieldstone markers in the vicinity.

The remaining stone, an erect monument, marks the graves of James Piatt (pronounced PY-att), his wife, Mary (1825 – 1895) and their children: Kitty (1857 – 1858), Lyman (1859 – 1884), and Rebecca (1864 – 1878). The neighbor said the cemetery was called the Piatt Cemetery.  The cemetery is located on the Tannery Road, not far from Clemo Corners.
