BACKGROUND:  Martha Harriet Wheeler was the 2nd wife of my 3rd great-grandfather - John Eugene Fletcher. Family history has it that she and John's first wife - Victorine P. Wheeler were sisters but I haven't been able to prove or disprove this theory yet. John Eugene Wheeler was born Oct 21, 1816 in Mount Pleasant and died May 9, 1901. He married Victorine P. Wheeler on July 4, 1844. She was born Feb 6, 1829 in NY and died in Oskosh, WI on Dec 20, 1859. He married 2nd Martha Harriet Wheeler (daughter of Royal Wheeler and Delanah T. Wheeler) on Sept 27, 1864. She was born May 13, 1842 in NY and died May 19, 1887 in Hine's Corner. He married 3rd Achsah Fowler on June 11, 1889. John, Martha, and Achsah are all buried in Hine's cemetery.
