The Warren County Courthouse maintains marriage records from 1885. It is my understanding that records prior to that date were destroyed in one or more of the "great fires". The marriage records are maintained in "Books". Book 1 covers 1885 to 1889, Book 2 covers 1889 to 1893, and so forth. Most books have one entry per page, although several books during this time frame have two entries per page and include less information about the marriage.

Warren County researcher, Mary Anderson, has transcribed and created indexes for all of the marriage record books up to 1968. Mary maintains several large Microsoft Works databases with multiple books entered into each database. She has transmitted all of the data to your web site maintainer, Bill Klauk , who has split the database into individual books. Bill will also be creating an alphabetical index covering multiple books.

If one finds a name in an alphabetical listing, go to the book and page number to find the name of the spouse. It is presumed that one can contact the courthouse to obtain the actual record, or to obtain information about the record.
