Wrightsville Cemetery, Freehold Township

As shown in the photograph, the newer cemetery sign has
gold lettering on a green background with white posts
and is readily visible from the highway.

Wrightsville Cemetery is a medium-sized active cemetery on Route 958 just north of the village of Wrightsville on the east side of the road just past the second curve. It is located on a slight knoll and is well maintained. A single gravel road circles around the back of the cemetery and is accessible from either end of the cemetery. While the cemetery abuts the highway and is very easy to spot, it is on a curve so care will need to be taken to spot either of the unmarked entrances to the grounds.

And, unless you look very carefully, you will miss seeing the original sign - a tall metal arch bearing the name of the cemetery around the top. Nestled in between mature maple trees, it is about midway along the length of the grounds right beside the highway.

Driving directions from the Hickory Street bridge in Warren: drive west on Pennsylvania Ave W/US-6 (business route) along the Allegheny River. US Hwy 62 will join with US 6 before you leave Warren. The highways will become a free-access 4-lane. Drive approximately 17 miles, through Starbrick, west to Youngsville (where PA 27 will join with US 6), and on to Pittsfield (where US 6 will split with PA 27) and head north still on US 6. Make a slight right onto PA 958 and drive through the village of Wrightsville. The cemetery is located north of the village on the east side just past the second curve.
