I am looking for the 1st husband of Mary Ellen TRESSLER. She was born near Hyndman in Somerset County PA April 20, 1850, the daughter of Levi TRESSLER and Mary Ellen POORBAUGH. She had a daughter,Emma Aquilla ???, born March 1869 in Someset County PA., to her 1st husband, After her 1st husband died she married George William MCBRIDE Sept 12, 1876 and moved to McKeesport PA. where he and she resided until their deaths Aug 12, 1903 and May 15, 1928, respectively.

Looking for more exact information on Harold LINT believed to have been born before 1887 in Henry Clay Twp, Fayette Co., PA. He was married to Louisa GLASS who was 6 months old when she came from Germany--a trip that took her family 3 months. Another report called Harry's wife Louisa HARRISON. Their marriage is believed to have been before 1907 in Fayette Co. Their children include Ferdinand Alfred LINT, b. April 4, 1908 who as well as some others who shall remain nameless since they could still be living. Ferdinand LINT was first married to Nellie AVERY who was born Apr 15, 1909. They had 7 children before he divorced and married again and had another 6 children. His second wife was named Geraldine McCARTY. Any further information about any of these people would be greatly appreciated.

Trying to locate information on PENROD. David PENROD died in Somerset. His son Michael PENROD was born about 1780 and married Anna (info unknown). At this time all of the PENRODS were living in Somerset. Their daughter Anna PENROD married John FISCUS around 1820 and moved to Westmoreland County. I would appreciate information on either PENROD or FISCUS.

Does anyone know who were the parents of Barbara MILLER who married Levi SHOCKEY on 12 July 1819 in Somerset County. Her tombstone dates are b. 7 September 1800, d. 1883. Baarbara and Levi lived in Salisbury and Wellersburg.

Flo NULL born February 27, 1887, d/o Mary Period NICKLOW and Joseph NULL, married John Harry CORBETT, Jr. in Somerset Co., PA, February 27, 1908. Had issue: Mary Hope born in Somerset Co. Looking for information on the ZUFALL or HEILBERN families of Somerset Co. Very little information to go on at the present. My gggr grandfather Alex? Zufall married a woman of the Heilbern family in Somerset Co., probably c. 1870. She died c.1917 in Jefferson Co. They had the following children: Mary, Josiah, Elvira, John, Sarah, David, Lydia (m. Jack KUHNS), and Charlotte (my ggr grandmother--b. c.1875; m. Daniel CAMPBELL b. c.1864.) Any information concerning either of these families would be appreciated.

My Great Grandfather Jeremiah WABLE was born 4/17/1884 and death 3/23/1954, I am looking for his father, Lucius b.1/28/1857. SLOAN, WHETSTONE, FINLEY. Seeking information on the SLOAN family in Fayette Co., PA and Garrett Co., MD. According to Ellis' Fayette County History my 3rd g-grandfather John SLOAN's family arrived in Henry Clay Twp., Fayette County, PA about 1787 from Ireland. After selling his farm at Sloan's Ford on the Youghiogheny River, he moved with his family to MD, where he died. Several of his children returned to PA. The 1850 census lists my 2nd g-grandparents in Henry Clay Twp: John SLOAN, b. 1815 PA; his wife Sarah [WHETSTONE], b. 1820 MD, and their children: Hiram [b. 14 Sep 1840 PA]; Margaret A. [b. 1842]; Alfred, my g-grandfather [b. 2 Sep 1844 in Somerfield, Somerset Co., PA] married Martha FINLEY [b. 1850 Westmoreland Co., PA] on 31 May 1866 in West Newton, Westmoreland Co., PA; Catharine [b. 1844 PA]; Mary [b. 1847 PA]; and Reuben [b. 1850 PA]. Alfred and Hiram SLOAN enlisted in the 85th Regiment, Company "H" in the Civil War from Bedford Co. My 2nd g-grandparents, Sarah and John, married on 20 Dec 1839 in Washington Co., MD. When did John SLOAN sell his land and exactly where did he move to in MD? Is he the John SLOAN living near Grantsville MD in 1800? Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. CLARK, Samuel (c. 1740-1780) he is buried in Hooversville, PA , Somerset County, where all later descendents were born, to include my father, Garfield Shafer Clark (1930-1973). Garfield's father was Merrill Clark. Samuel had son George Washington Clark. We believe Samuel might have fought in the Revolutionary War and later moved to Somerset County as a result of receiving a parcel of land due to his military service (?). We cannot locate his pension papers or other records to document any of this. Help?
