The Yoder Newsletter is seeking to restore the Old Yoder Cemetery located north of Brotherton on the property of the Cambria Tipple. It has been overgrown for years and is in sad shape. This is the apparent resting place of the earliest Yoder immigrant to Somerset County and first leader of the Glades Amish Congregation..."Schweitzer Christian" YODER (born in Europe, immigrated in 1742 on the ship "Francis and Elizabeth". We have started to raise funds for the effort and are looking to a brass plaque and a "clean-up weekend" to tackle the underbrush, etc. Local volunteers needed to help orchestrate this...please visit our Yoder Archives Webpage "http://www.genealogy.org/~yoder/" and drop us a line if you'd like to help out in this project. -Chris Yoder, Editor, YNL, published continuously since 1983.
