BERKEBILE, MARY. Need info about Mary Berkebile, supposibly born circa 1790 and died 1829. Would like to know definite dates and counties. Probably died either in Somerset or Cambria County. Mary was daughter of Andrew Berkbile b. about 1764 and Catherine SCHAFFER b. about 1768. Mary married John BERKEY about 1810. Also would like more info on Andrew and Catherine. Thanks!

MARKLEY: I am looking for information on the MARKLEY family. The ancient village of West Salisbury, in Elk Lick Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, was platted, or laid out in 1796 by JOSEPH MARKLEY on a tract of land that had been surveyed to JOHN MARKLEY, his father, in 1786. The MARKLEY family moved to Ohio and later to Illinois. I understand that the MARKLEY name was originally MERKEL or MERKLE before coming to America from Germany. Possibly connected to John and Elizabeth ROWZER/ROSIER of Bedford County cited in the Genealogical Society of Pa's Colonial Records, V.12, p. 377 as having had six children: John, Hannah, Isaac, Joseph, Rachel, Rebekka. Searching for proof that the John Rosier, Sr., born 1785, Pa., who died 1867 Parkton, Baltimore County, Md., was the son, grandson, or nephew of one of Elizabeth's sons. John Rosier Sr.'s daughter Hannah may have been named for her great-aunt if John,Sr, b. 1785, was the son or grandson of Isaac or Joseph and the nephew of the original couple.

The identified people in the picture are: James Wesley BURKHOLDER (1850 - 1915) Catherine CRAMER (Burkholder) (1822 - 1906) (widow of Daniel Burkholder) Mary Elizabeth BURKHOLDER (Tannehill) (1846 - 1931) Jasper N. TANNEHILL (1841 - 1922) Bob GOVE There are 8 unidentified adults and 8 unidentified children. Based on Catherine CRAMER the picture was taken about 1906. I have compiled a list of people that might be in the picture. The family names include HARTZELL, FIRESTONE, YOUNKIN, STEYER, and HOKE. James Wesley BURKHOLDER, Mary Elizabeth BURKHOLDER, and Jasper TANNEHILL all lived in Lower Turkeyfoot Township, near Cranberry Glade Lake. Hello! My name is Cheryl Nowotny and I have been trying to research the NOWOTNY family. I know that my husband's granfather was supposed to have been born in Scranton,Penn. I am trying to find any information I can on him or his family. His name was Tony Nowotny and he was born June 18, 1895. His parents were Aton and Josephine Nowotny. Researching KERBACH/HOOVER/CLEMONS: Trying to find Martin Kerbach family in Donegal twp., Westmoreland County about 1800. Martin lived in Donegal twp. in 1810, 1830 and 1840. He died there in 1841. Martin's wife was Julianna Huber (Hoover) daughter of George and Elizabeth Huber. Julia died about 1805. They had five children George, Martin, Samuel, Mary and Elizabeth. All children were born between 1798 and 1805 Mary and Elizabeth married Clemons brothers (David and David Clemons) from Washington County. Any info would be appreciated.

CROM,CRUM--Looking for verification that John CROM (CRUM) and Margaret MILLER lived in Adams County (Oxford Twp.?) circa 1805. Their second son, Daniel, was alledgedly born there. John, born Lancaster County, moved on to Harrison County, Ohio, where he served as a United Brethren minister. He was also a farmer and shoemaker. His oldest son, Jacob CROM is a direct ancestor of Robert L. Crom, H.C. 75, Box 921, Hackensack, MN 56452.
