Seeking information on John COLLIER, son of Isaac COLLIER,II and Elizabeth CRESAP. John was said to have been born in Va, reared in Kentucky, and returned to Maryland as a young man where he worked as a Wagoneer. He was the original proprietor of the old tavern at Mt. Augusta on the "Old Pike" from 1805 to death, in 1857. He purchased a farm in addison Township, Somerset Co., in 1810 from George Miller. This land was later sold to his daughter Maria and her husband Samual Frazee. Any information regarding John COLLIER, his son Joseph COLLIER the tavern, the farm or other information would be appreciated.

Looking for information on TROUTMAN/TRAUTMAN family. William Troutman was born in Berks, PA in 1753, but is buried in Wellersburg, Somerset County, PA. His wife was Catherine UHL. There was also his son, William, who was married to Christina KORNS and both are buried in Wellersburg also. I'd appreciate any information I can get.

Jacob HUTMACHER (HATMAKER) was born 1813 in Hesse Darnstadt and died 18 Feb 1847 in Stoystown. He is buried in the cemetery at the intersection of Pine and Main. His wife, Margaretha (EHART), took her two daughters and went to Ft. Madison IA where her brothers and mother had gone. There is a family story that he died from pneunomia contracted fighting a fire. Are there any town records or old newpapers that mention this event?

All buried at the Jersey Baptist Church Cemetary, Lower Turkeyfoot Twp., Somerset Co., PA. Would like to know: WHO ARE THE PARENTS OF ELIZABETH AND WHO ARE HER ANCESTORS? REAM ANCESTOR WAS HUGUENOT REFUGEE The ancestor of the Somerset County Ream families was a Huguenot refugee from France named Johann Endrew Rheim. The next generation is headed up by Hans Andress Eberhard Rheim, whose son Johann Eberhart Rheim was born 1687 at Leinnin, Germany, died 1779, married 24, April 1712 Anna Elizabeth Schwab who was born 1692 died 1761; the family arrived in America 1717 and settled in Lancaster County. Abraham Ream [son of Eberhard] was born 1718 in Philadelphia. Andrew Ream [son of Abraham] born Jul 1737 died 11 May 1813 married Susanna Fiesser. Andrew was a Drummer in the Revolutionary War at the Battle of Monmounth summer of 1778, and was later a Captain of Lancaster County militi 1780 to 1783. He is buried in the Ream Cemetery at Ursina. Interested in any information about a monument located near Painter Rock Hill and the Nedrow Cemetary in the Roaring Run natural Area of the forbes State Fores. Believe the area was/is part of Donegal Township. The monument lists the names: "D.A. SHEETS, C.K. BAKER, Caterine SAYLOR". Under the names the inscription reads "KILLED JAN 19, 1896". I am also interested in any related or historical information about the general area.

John and his wife, ELIZABETH, had several children in Somerset Co. I only know the name of one child, ELIZABETH MILLER SKINNER. She was born April 16, 1804. Looking for any info on John and Mariah DOUGHERTY, both b. Abt 1830 in IRE. Mariah died on Aug. 3, 1897 and is buried in Bethany-Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland Co., Polish Catholic Cemetery. Were living in Westmoreland Co. in 1880 Census, but have been unable to locate them in 1870 census. Know that a son of John and Mariah, Anthony (my g-grandfather) b Dec. 1861 - d. Abt mid-late 1940's in Warrior, AL, m. Hester MOORE in 1881, b. Mar. 1864 in England, were living in Dunbar, Fayette Co., PA in 1882- 1886. It appears that John and Mariah, as well as Anthony and Hester, moved around in the southwest counties of PA. John and Mariah's children who were living at home in the 1880 census were: Anthony, Charles b. 1869, Daniel b. 1871, Thomas b. 1877. There were probably older children who had moved away from home by 1880. Anthony and Hester's three sons born in Dunbar, Fayette Co. were: John b. Nov. 1882, Thomas b. Dec. 12, 1884 - d. Abt. 1886-1890, Charles b. Oct. 6, 1886. At the baptism of Thomas, a Bernard MOORE and Mary MOORE were listed as his sponsors/godparents. They could be relative's of Hester. Between 1886 and 1889, Anthony and Hester moved to Warrior, Jefferson Co., AL. Would really appreciate any info on John and Mariah or Anthony and Hester. THANKS!

Researching DECKER's, early 1800's through present. Jacob (Job) s/o Isaac ca 1750-1835. Job (Joab) moved from Westmoreland Co. to Cambria Co about 1835. His descendants remain there today. Several other Decker families moved from the New Florence area of Westmoreland Co. to the Johnstown area in later years (late 1800's to early 1900's). Even thou the later people were from different family groups, I believe they are all related through the early ancestors.
