Job. M. Flanigan (11 Sept 1835 - 24 May 1919) and Sophia
E. Butler (3 Feb 1836 - 23 Feb 1905) were my great-great-grandparents. They are
buried in the Johnson Chapel Cemetery in Henry Clay Twp., Fayette Co., on route 281 about
2 miles west of Confluence, Lower Turkeyfoot Twp., Somerset Co. PA. Job was first classleader
of the Confluence Methodist Episcopal Church, erected in 1872 and lived in Confluence from
that time until his death in 1919. There is a large stained-glass window in the church dedicated
to the memory of Job M. and Sophia Flanigan and their daughter Felicia. Job's parents, Thomas
Flanigan (24 July 1808 - 2 June 1892) and Catharine Marker (b.1812) and Sophia's parents,
Jonathan Butler (11 Jan 1811 - 3 Feb 1896) and Sarah Sloan (b. 1816) are also buried in the
Johnson Chapel Cemetery. |
