Pennslyvania Civil War Links

The main source of information on Pennsylvania Civil War units is a multi-volume set of books: History of Pennsylvania Volunteers, 1861-5. Samuel P. Bates [member of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania]. Harrisburg: B. Singerly, State Printer. 1869.

The set contains short histories of every unit, as well as company rosters. Even though the set was originally printed in 1869, it is widely available in many Pennsylvania libraries, as well as libraries in other states. It has also been microfilmed by the Mormons, so should be available through your local LDS Family History Center. There is also a separate index produced by the Genealogical Publishing Company.
