Index of Somerset County CemeteriesThe Historical Society of Pennsylvania, State Library of Pennsylvania, and the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania have large collections of cemetery and burial records. Many of these records have been microfilmed by the LDS church and are available locally at the Family History Library. The Historical and Genealogical Society of Somerset County and several of the larger libraries in the county have published volumes of the W.P.A. Index to Somerset County Cemeteries (burial dates prior to 1933). The W.P.A. Cemetery lists have been transcribed by a team of volunteers of this project. Our main source is the WPA Cemetery Index and personal research (field trips to the cemetery). We are continually adding cemeteries to the index and hope to have all those listed in the index online someday for your use. Note: There are errors in both the index and in the 1933 transcriptions. Please use these records are guides only and verify with other source records (such as death certificates, etc.).
