I would appreciate any help in locating him to discover death date and parents and any other available information. He is my 2nd GGfather. born abt 1808 Hesse, Darmstadt, Germany; died abt 1858 probably Somerset, Somerset, PA

He is listed on the 1850 Census in Brothers Valley, Somerset, PA with his family, wife Sarah & eight children, including his 6th child Sarah (my great grandmother) b 1844. Her death certificate shows Henry as father.

His wife Sarah is buried in the Wills Church Cemetery – but he isn’t there. She is on the 1860 Census without him so I presumed his death occurred about 1858.

4 Sep 1837 in the Court of Common Pleas, Somerset, Pennsylvania he declared his intention to become a citizen of the United States of America. Film # 1318014, Naturalization Papers.

He was born in Braunfelts, King of Prussia. He was 29 years old, landed in Port of Baltimore in 1819. He is a Blacksmith and declared Somerset, Pennsylvania as his place of settlement. His previous allegience was to King of Prussia; Frederick William III which he renounced.

BIRTH: His papers of intention to become a citizen say he was born in Braunfeltz, King of Prussia. On Sep 4th 1837 he was 29 years old, so was probably born in 1807/08.

His oldest daughter Phoebe Coleman in the 1880 US Census Summit, PA shows father born in Hesse Darmstadt.
