George Babst is my Brick Wall. Here is what is said of him.

b. about 1831 in Germany, d. about 1875 in Somerset County, PA.

Son: Harvey Alvan Babst (b. 7 Jun 1865 in Elk Lick Twp, Somerset, PA, d. 8 May 1928 in Geneva, Fillmore, NE).

Perhaps married to Anna Stevanus, Harvey's mother. Anna b. 10 Jan 1837 in Elk Lick Twp, Somerset, PA; d. 8 Jan 1893 in Keim, Somerset, PA.

Though Anna's son, Harvey, was born in 1865, the 1870 Elk Lick census shows her in the household of Abraham Miller. Harvey is there also, listed as Harvey Miller.

Harvey Babst m. Jannie Kimmel 19 Dec 1889 in Falls City, Richardson, NE. He listed George Babst as his father on the marriage license.

Harvey Babst's obituary said he was "christened at the Lutheran Church in Somerset Co., PA, where he spent his early childhood."

George's dates of birth and death come from my deceased aunt's genealogy work. Unfortunately I find no documentation of her findings. The marriage license and obituary mentioned are transcriptions.
