Prisoners of War of Schuylkill County

The Civil War is probably one of the saddest wars in our nations history; brother against brother, friend against friend. The Civil War caused more death then any war then or now. Many men died; and in some areas, an entire generation of men were wiped out. What started as a fight/issue over states rights, ended with the issue of slavery.

This page is dedicated to our Schuylkill Soldiers who were captured during the Civil War. Some returned, most didn't. If you wish to contribute to this page. Please email me. This is an attempt to document those soldiers who were captured by the south, and promised the exchange program which never came.
