OBTAINING VITAL RECORDS, PENNSYLVANIA

Birth and Death records are available for events occurring after January 1906. 
Always ask for a complete or full copy of the record you are requesting.
After 1913, the death certificates should contain the parent's names.
State your relationship to the deceased person or that your request is genealogy-related.

Prior to January 1906, check the local county court house where your ancestor resided.  Most birth, death, and marriage records began by 1893.
