PREFACE

The United Presbyterian church of Greenville has just completed the One Hundredth Year of its existence and our main purpose is to preserve, in permanent form, a few fact and faces that have to do with its organization and history.

This is the mother church of this town and as such it is more of less closely related to the older church families of the entire region.  To surviving members of these families the contents of this book will be more than passing interest.

We are indebted to some of the surviving members of Dr. Anderson McLean's family, and to the former pastors now living, Rev. J. H. Tedford, Dr. J. R. Britton, Dr. J. C. Scouller and others for may of the facts here recorded.

D. Graham McKay, Pastor

Greenville, Pa., September 10th, 1901.
