Mary
Elizabeth Burdett, died Thursday, March 23, 1922, at the home of
her son, Frank of Hendersonville. She was 86 years old. She was born
November 17, 1835 in Lake Twp., to parents from Wales, who names are
not known. Her maiden name was Huston (spelling unsure). She was
orphaned at a young age and was raised by the William and Mary Key
family. She married their son, Samuel, on September 20, 1855. They had
6 children,3 dying in infancy. The others are William, Lake Twp.,
Elizabeth Dambacher, Greenville, who died 3 months ago, and Samuel,
Greenville. Her husband died 31 October, 1866. She married Oliver
Burdett on January 7, 1869. They had 4 children, Charles, Stoneboro,
Emma North, of North Mills, Frank, of Hendersonville, and Lester, of
Jackson Center. She is also survived by 3 step children, Oliver H.
Burdett, Lake Twp., William Burdett, Lackawannock Twp., and Sarah
Marshall, Worth Twp. She was buried at Bethany Cemetery, Lake Twp.
