MISS MARTHA A. EGBERT
Martha
A. Egbert, daughter of the late Dr. T.W. and Mrs. Nannie Egbert, died
of consumption at her home on Pearl Avenue at 5 o'clock on Thursday
morning. The deceased was 22 years old and was born in Oil City, where
she enjoyed the love and esteem of a large circle of friends.
In
1894 she graduated from the Meadville hospital as a trained nurse and
two months later was appointed head nurse of the Oil City hospital.
While in the discharge of the duties of this position she contracted
pneumonia which developed into consumption and caused her death at the
time noted.
She was of cheerful and industrious disposition,
charitable and kind and was a devout Christian and member of the
Meadville Presbyterian church.
The funeral services will be held at the house at 1:30 o'clock on Saturday afternoon and the interment will be private.
