Lester
Burdette, 64, died 3 Jan 1940 at his home in Worth Twp of lingering
illness. He was born 17 Dec 1875 at Millbrook, Mercer Co., Pa., to
Oliver and Mary Huston Key Burdett. He married Susan Smith on 27 May
1897,in the Jackson Center Presbyterian Church. He spent his life as a
farmer and coal miner, and was a highly respected member of the
community. He was preceded in death by half brothers, John Burdett,
Oliver Burdett, William Burdett, Amos Burdett, William Key, Orsen Key,
and Samuel Key, half sisters, Mary Eleanor Johnston, Sarah Lyons
Marshall, Mary E. Key, and Elizabeth Key Dambacher, his parents and son
Elton. He is survived by his wife, sons, Clarence, Oscar, Norris, David
Herman, Charles, and daughter, Villa Elford, and brothers Charles,
Frank, and sister Emma North. Burial will be 20 Dec 1940 at Pleasant
Hill Cemetery, Jackson Center.
