EDWIN B. HARSHAW, cashier
of the Grove City National Bank, Grove City, was born in Brady’s Bend,
Armstrong county, Pennsylvania, December 31, 1869, a son of W. J.
Harshaw and wife. His parents came to Grove City in 1882. He
worked in his father’s store and for two years was cashier of the
Broadway National Bank at Scotdale, Westmoreland county, Pennsylvania,
but previous to that had been in the First National Bank of Grove City,
as assistant cashier. He became secretary of the Grove City Savings and
Trust Company in 1903, which Trust Company was converted into the Grove
City National Bank August 1, 1908. Mr. Harshaw received his education
at Grove City, attending both the public schools and college at that
place.
He is identified with the Independent Order of Odd
Fellows and is a member of the Sons of Veterans. Being fully alive to
the business interests of his sprightly city, he was made the president
of the Commercial Club. In his church faith he is in harmony with
Presbyterianism, of which denomination he is a worthy member.
Politically, he is a stanch defender of the general principles of the
Republican party and is a member of the city council of Grove City. Mr.
Harshaw was united in marriage in 1901 to Miss Bessie, daughter of Rev.
J. P. Barbor and wife, of Grove City.
