Ezekiel Condit


EZEKIEL CONDIT married, Jan. 9, 1801, Ruth Carmichael, daughter of Daniel, of Morristown, who was born Dec. 27, 1778, and died Aug. 14, 1821. He married second, March 7, 1822, Sarah Beatty, born 1786; died Jan. 29, 1873. He became a member of the old Fairfield Presbyterian Church, Mercer County, Pa., by letter, Aug. 31, 1805, and was ordained elder in 1829, which office he held until his death, May 23, 1845. He was one of the early residents of the region of the Fairfield Church, who laid the foundations of the society of that vicinity, now noted for the integrity and Christian character of its inhabitants.

Roseville, Ill.; Elizabeth, b. Oct. 26, 1802;  Bathsheba, b. June 14, 1804; m. Thaddeus Axtell,  of Mercer County, Pa.; Daniel, b. Aug. 15, 1808; Phebe, b. Nov. 15, 1810; Jabez, b. Sept. 1, 1812.

Children by Sarah:

Robert, b. Sept. 21, 1823; Silas, b. Oct. 5, 1825; Sarah, b. June 5, 1828;  Francis, b. Aug., 1830; m. Turner;  he d. Oct. 3, No family.
