My ancestor David Morgan married Sarah Jones
in South Wales in 1864 and had two sons born there, David and William
John in 1866 and 1868 before coming to America in 1868 and having three
more sons in Sharon, Pa. named Thomas, George and Charles. My Great
Grandfather Thomas married a Jenny Williams in Sharon and her father
was Stephen Williams and mother Sarah Evans both born in Wales.
David Morgan
born in Glamorgan Wales in 1840 and died in Sharon, Pa. in 1891 leaving
5 sons, a wife and a brother William K. Morgan in Sharon. His Wife
later remarried a George Jones. There first son, David, married and
died in New Philadelphia, Ohio in 1917. The rest of the sons all
married and died in Sharon.
David Morgan's wife Sarah died in Sharon
in 1909.Listed in the 1880 Census of Mercer County is David Morgan his
5 sons and wife along with Mary J. Collins and Sariann Collins listed
as both Nieces. |

Robert Cummings Comstock
lived in Mercer County, PA where he had a sawmill with his father, Abel
Comstock. He lived in Pennsylvania for about six years after his
marriage to Sarah McDowell in
1842, a Mercer County native, and four children were born there. About
1848 he removed to Wood County, OH after a visit, and bought a farm. He
engaged in milling and farming, and served as a justice of the peace
for about 30 years.
James and Nancy Smith Woods
to Mercer County 1839 from Allegheny County, PA, then to WI about 1849.
In 1840 in Mercer County, PA, there were 4 John Woods families
and 2 James Woods families. In Sandy Creek Township were families
of familiar names: Ledaker Bartle, James Christy, McCracken, Craig and
Gill.
In Springfield Township were families of John Woods, Means,
McCracken, James Woods, Samuel Woods, relationship, if any, unknown. In
New Castle Borough was Daniel Euwer and family.
