Construction began on the high school building in 1907.  Under the direction of Prof. J. M. Hostetter, Superintendent of Schools and Prof. W. E. Shellenberger, Principal of the High School, the Farrell high school students moved into this new building in 1908.  View list of directors, architect and builder.

From the Twentieth Century History of Mercer County, 1909:  On December 18, 1908, was dedicated the handsome South Sharon high school building, which was constructed at a cost of about $100,000. The building, in the colonial style, of buff brick and stone, contains twelve rooms, besides an auditorium and gymnasium. The building was begun in October, 1907.
