ANALYSIS OF THE PARKER MAGNETIC MINERAL WATER

MADE BY

HENRY TRIMBLE, OF PHILADELPHIA, PA.

Sample contains 627.59 grains of mineral matter per gallon, and is free from organic impurities. The following is the percentage composition of the mineral constituents:

Silica 1.33 grains per gallon.
Magnesium Chloride 109.84 grains per gallon.
Calcium Carbonate 11.95 grains per gallon.
Calcium Chloride 221.92 grains per gallon.
Sodium Chloride 282.55 grains per gallon.
Potassium Chloride traces grains per gallon.
Total 627.59 grains per gallon

This is a strong saline alkaline water, which should not be taken in unlimited quantities, on account of the large proportion of mineral constituents present, but taken in moderate quantities of one or two glasses at a time would undoubtedly be beneficial in many cases.

PAMPHLET DESCRIPTIVE

of the

Mineral Sanitarium and Parker Mineral Water

at

GARDEAU, McKEAN CO., PA.

The Parker Mineral Sanitarium at Gardeau, McKean Co., Pa., on the Western N.Y. & Pennsylvania R.R., five miles south of Keating Summit, has recently been completed for the reception and accommodation of invalids who desire to avail themselves of the wonderful curative properties of the Parker Mineral Water. No pains will be spared to render this place a pleasant and comfortable home for all. As far as possible all wants will be supplied; every attention will be given for the comfort and health of all. Persons visiting the Mineral Sanitarium will be transferred, and their baggage, from the depot at Gardeau to the hotel, free of charge. Every condition of health is here: The elevation of 2,000 feet above sea level; pure mountain air; the numerous mountain springs of the purest water, in addition to nature's mineral constituents, that have never failed to relieve the most obstinate cases that have for years baffled the skill of the most learned chemist. There are many cases that persons are subject to, that have never been made public, that the Parker Mineral Water has restored to a normal condition. A person that has premature falling out of their hair, by bathing the scalp thoroughly for a few weeks, a healthy condition will ensue and a vigorous growth of hair will be the result.

Those afflicted with weak or inflamed eyes: By bathing them two or three times each day with mineral water, lukewarm, in a few weeks all inflammation will be reduced, their sight stronger and suffering will cease. All wounds and bruises, by frequent bathing, are keep free from inflammation, a healthy action is the result and a permanent cure is soon effected. Those suffering with constant and severe headache or neuralgic pains will receive relief in a very few days by drinking the water two or three times a day and thorough bathing. For catarrh in the head it has invariably cured the most aggravated cases.

The Keystone Railroad will run trains from here to the apex of the Allegany mountains, a distance of ten miles, for the accommodation of guests. Altitude 3,000 feet above sea level. On the winding trip up the mountain sides hundreds of feet above deep gorges, may be seen the Switzerland of America. Must be seen to be appreciated.

Kindly read the following statement of Dr. Charles S. Taft, 277 West 22nd Street, New York:

Office Of Dr. Charles S. Taft 277 West 22nd Street New York, February 1, 1889

My attention was first attracted to the Parker Natural Mineral Water by the analysis. The great medicinal value of the mineral salts, held in solution in the water, and their combining proportions, seemed to present a peculiarly effective remedy in a certain class of constitutional diseases that to regular treatment, by the regulation medicines, generally prove obstinate. Acting on this idea I have used and recommended the water in a variety of skin and blood diseases with good success. It differs from ordinary alkaline waters in its great concentration, and its being readily absorbed through the pores of the skin, which contains its rematkable efficacy in curing chronic skin eruptions that have withstood regular treatment.

The wonderful alterative influence of this water on the system has been demonstrated by trial in some chronic cases of blood contamination with marked benefit in every one. If I had possessed facilities for administering baths of the water, in connection with internal treatment, I am certain the result would have been more speedy and thorough.

From my knowledge of the therapeutic action of this water in cases within my own observation, I confidently recommend the use of it in all constitutional diseases, particularly in those cases of depraved blood with indolent ulcers and skin eruptions.

Where it is possible, I recommend patients who are suffering from constitutional diseases, requiring the full benefit of the water, to spend a time at the springs where the healing water fresh from the flowing well, can be used in drinkinf and bathing in connection with pure mountain air and pleasant surroundings.

CHARLES S. TAFT, M.D.

TESTIMONIALS

A few testimonials from the many who have been benefited by the use of the PARKER MINERAL WATER.

CUSTER CITY, PA., DECEMBER 7, 1887
I feel it my duty to make this statement, that others may receive the benefit from the use of the Parker Mineral Water, the same as I have. During the War in the South I contracted a malarial disease that in a short time after the war resulted in a positive case of dropsy of the chest and bowels, and in a few years I became afflicted with a scrofulous disease that affected the skin of my entire person. My skin became thick, dry and hard; a thick coat of lifeless, dry skin covered me entirely. That produced a large amount of pain and itching constantly that was almost unbearable for the last several years. I have been treated by a great many imminent physicians, and to no purpose. I have paid out a large amount of money without one particle of benefit. In the summer of 1886 I went to the celebrated mineral wells at Mount Clemens, Mich. I bathed in the waters and drank it. After several week's stay my dropsy was benefited, but the scrofula remained the same. In the spring of 1887 the dropsy came on again; my chest and bowels we refilled with water, so I could hardly walk, and it was very difficult for me to get my breath. I made up my mind that the span of life was very short with me. I arranged my worldly matters and left home for the Parker Mineral Well, not expecting to return home again alive. I commenced drinking and bathing in the water, and at the end of the second week eight inches less than when I commenced. I also found out to my great joy that the scrofula was much better. I have been at the well five weeks in all and have used the water at home, and for the last two months I have been able to do nearly a good day's work every day. I consider the dropsy substantially cured, and my entire skin has assumed its normal condition; I suffer but very little inconvenience from either.

KNOXVILLE, PA., FEB. 3, 1888
I have to acknowledge that the Parker Water helped me very much. I was having chills and sweats every day, and after I had used the water and took baths one week, they all left. I drank the water one month after I returned home; do not have any more chills. I can say the water is almost a specific for that disease. You can use this in order to let the afflicted know the value of the Parker Water.

DUKE CENTRE, PA., DEC 26, 1887
I am pleased to say to you that, after being afflicted with Rheumatism and Constipation some four years, and not being able to attend to any kind of business, and being treated by eminent physicians, and visiting different celebrated mineral springs, all with out any benefit, by using your Mineral Water about six months I am well. I have been attending to my business without any inconvenience for some time. I am not troubled any more with constipation, my bowels being perfectly regular.
GILES FITCH

BELMONT, N.Y., DEC. 26, 1887
I want to make the following statement of my case for the benefit of others who may be afflicted. About thirty years ago I had a scrofulous affection come on my leg and foot that was very painful. I have had it treated by a great many physicians and have paid a large amount of money to have it cured. It all did no good. For the last several years I have had a urinary trouble called Diabetes, that has produced a great deal of suffering. Last spring I commenced using the Parker Mineral Water. I was so much improved that I went there again in september, and by bathing in and drinking the water between one and two weeks, I came home substantially well.
JOHN LISLOUS

SHIPPEN, PA., JAN. 4, 1888
For three years past I have been afflicted with Chronic Dyspepsia, and for the last year my stomach was ulcerated so that it would hardly retain a sufficient quantity of food to keep me alive. At the same time I had a Constipation of the Bowels, and for the last four months preceding the time I commenced using your Mineral Water my bowels did not move once without a syringe. During that time I was treated by a great many physicians, and grew worse all the time. I have now used your Mineral Water about four months. My stomach is well and will digest any kind of food without pain; my bowels are as regular now as they ever were, and have been so for the past two months. I am to-day a well man.
JOHN PAQUET

Dr. Hallock, who practiced medicine at this place for two years, was very imminent in his profession, and was afflicted with sciatic rheumatism. Had been to the hot springs of Arkansas for treatment, also Barclay springs of California and the hot springs of Colorado without benefit. During his stay here he used this water for drinking and bathing, and was fully restored to health.
DR. W. D. HALLOCK

Edward Hatton, of Driftwood, Pa., who had been in hospital in Philadelphia, treated for blood poison and diabetes without any benefit, came here and used this mineral water seven weeks, and was entirely cured, and able to do business at 75 years of age.

Geo. Brougham, who was working at this place eight years ago, had been afflicted with gravel for 15 years. Had an attack that rendered it very difficult and painful to pass any urine. Supposed he must die. As a last resort commenced drinking the mineral water freely. In a few days he commenced passing the stone in small particles and in three weeks was entirely well, and has remained well since.
GEO. BROUGHAM

Charles Swan came here from Napoli, Cattaraugus Co., with ulceration of the rectum and bowels. Had been treated for three years by a number of different physicians without benefit. Was weak and emaciated. By drinking the mineral water freely, and bathing and using injections, he very soon began to improve. In three months was doing business again.
