St Vincent’s Cemetery

A Few Notes

St Vincent’s Cemetery is laid out in sections numbered 1,2,3,4,5,6, and 7. The higher the number, the newer the section. Originally, the cemetery consisted of 1,2,3, and 4, with the other sections opened as the need arose. The Cemetery proper consists of about 7 acres of ground currently in use by the Parish.

The rows in each section are arranged in odd and even numbers; lots 1,3,5,7, etc running along side each other and above would be lots, 2,4,6,8, etc. Behind some of the larger monuments there are perpetual care markers giving the section and the number of that particular lot. These can be used as a guide to locating other lots in that section.

The names mentioned in this booklet are not all strictly in alphabetical order. Since the project was done in several different stages. Some names were added to each section. They will start with the letter of that section, but be out of order alphabetically. If you take your time, and if the person you are seeking was buried at St. Vincent’s and has a head stone, you will find them. If you do not find them here in this booklet, but still believe them to have been buried in this Cemetery, contact the St. Vincent’s Rectory and ask for a check of the burial file. There are many persons buried there who do not have stones.
