In the name of God amen, I, Joel Rogers of Tyler, Township of Huntington, County of Luzerne, and State of Pennsylvania, being of sound and disposing mind, Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament revoking all other.~

Item First, I give and bequeath to my widow (should I leave one) all the property She brought with her, and a good and comfortable maintainance, (or should She prefer it) such dowry as the law provides.~

Item Second, I give and bequeath to my grand Daughter, Mary Jane Rogers, daughter of my Son Lewis W. Rogers by Lucetta Maus, two hundred Dollars to be paid by my Executors to her, when She shall become of lawful age, on condition of her mother's discharging me from any liability to pay anything on the Bond given her, for the maintainance of the said Mary J. Rogers; and not otherwise.~

Item Third, I give and bequeath to my son Joel Jackson Rogers a certain piece of land, or the avails thereof, in Jackson Township, Luzerne County, part of Lot number twenty three, (the North end) Containing fifty acres more or less, Bounded on the South by land sold to Daniel Higgins (in the first tier of the fifth division lots in certified Plymouth).

Item fourth, I give and bequeath to my sons Joze Rogers and Stephen Rogers, the rest and residue of all my landed property of whatsoever name or nature in the township of Huntigton, And I do hereby constitute and appoint my said sons Joze Rogers and Stephen Rogers, Executors of this my last Will and Testament, with full and ample powers to collect debts and dispose of the property bequeathed to them, in such manner as shall best accomodate them to carry out the intention of this will and pay all debts which I may owe at my decease. $800.00 to be taken off my hands by them when fully declared.~ Giving their step mother a comfortable support and releiving her from Toil, care and perplexity as much as possible.~

Signed, sealed and declared to be my last Will and Testament, the thirtieth day of July one thousand eight hundred and forty seven.~
