I Jacob Belford being of sound mind, memory and understanding do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void any wills by me at any time heretofore made.
And first I order and will to my wife Catherine the sole use of my house and lot in Beach Haven where I now reside so long as she lives__and I also will to her the use of all the household furniture all that is in and about the premises we occupy (excepting of course my smith tools and such things as are in my shop) during her life provided she does choose Three hundred dollars worth under the law--If she does so take book worth then she is not to have the use of my personal property but the same shall be sold. My Executor hereafter named shall collect my debts out of which & property here ordered to be sold he shall pay any debts, funeral expenses--
After the death of my widow I order my Executor to sell at public Sale my said house and lot and any personal property she may have use of under this will and divide the same as follows--
To Mahala Brader I will fifty dollars - To Clinton Brader fifty dollars - To James Belford one hundred Dollars, the said legacies to be paid one year after the decease of my said wife without interest - The balance of my estate I will to George Belford my son and my daughter Polly married to Miles Ransom same in equal shares - My said Smith tools and any personal property not bequeathed to my wife I order to be sold soon as can be after my decease.
I nominate constitute George Belford my son to be the Executor of this my will - Hereby giving to my said Executor full power and authority to sell as above directed and to make and execute deed or deeds to the purchasers. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 19th day of February A. D. 1863

Please be advised that there is a RANSOM genealogy circulating which states that
Miles Avery RANSOM married Mary BULFORD. I have found nothing in the BULFORD genealogy materials which indicates that this marriage ever took place.
The BELFORD family resided in Salem township
The BULFORD family came from New Haven and settled in the area of Dallas, Luzerne County.
