16 April,1950--Mrs Melinda williams, 83, of 130 Mill St. parsons. Born in MI , came to parsons 80 years ago with her parents, the late John and Mary Gray Tretheway, early Parson settlers. Interment in Denison Cem. Survivors, Bert L.,Toledo OH, Mrs Thomas O'Brien and Mrs. George Miller, Parsons.

13 Sept,1950-Luther J Cragle prominent West Nanticoke Insurance rep. died at his home in Sylvan lake. He resided at 67 E. Poplar St. West Nanticoke.He was born 25 Oct.,1896 at W. Nanticoke, the son of the lateIsrael and Dora Hartman Cragle. Survivors, wife , the former Ida East, daughter, Mrs. Loretta Liebenguth, Allentown, sister, Mrs. George Kessler, W nanticoke. Interment in Edge Hill Cemetery.

13 Feb.,1925==Alanson M. Marvin--born 1 Dec., 1841 , grandson of Zera Marvin who came to Muhlenburg area in 1795, m 4 April, 1867 Sophia Santee[ died previous June ] daughter of the late John Santee of McKendree. 5 children, John D., Professor Archie W., Superintendent of West Eyoming High School, Dr. Merton E. Marvin, Seymore R. Marvin and Frank D. Marvin. Alanson Marvin, Civil War Vet, Co. E , 232rd. PA Vol. Inf., enlisted in 1864, wounded at Ft. Fisher, honorably discharged at end of the war. Interment, Marvin Cem.

6 March, 1925- died- Peter C. Billey, discovered by his grandson, Harry Baer. Born in Ross Twp. . On 17 March, at age 19, he enlisted in the Civil War and served three years, Co. F, 149th. Reg. Bucktail Brigade. He was captured and imprisoned at Andersonville for 9 months, but later escaped to the firing lines and was wounded at the Battle of Gettysburg. He was a member of the Shickshinny Post G. A. R. Married on 10 Sept., 1865, to Eliza Hess and 7 children, 45 grandchildren , three g grandchildren, two brothers and one sister survive. Daughters: Mrs. M. G. Baer of Reyburn, Mrs. W. G. Wolf of Koonsville, Mrs. Jay W. Hicks, Troy, PA, & Mrs. H. R, Sorber, Reyburn, Sons, L. A. Billey, Trenton NJ, L.W, Billey, Pittston, C. M. Billey, Huntington Mills. Brothers, W. D. and E. G. Billey of Reyburn. Sister, Mrs. S Gregory , Reyburn. Interment in Sorber Cem.

30 April,1925, died- Rev. Josiah Ruggles Wagner. Born 9 June, 1828, in Plains PA,son of John Peter Wagner. Married 18 March, 1860, Francis M. Durland- married for 61 years. Nine children born to them; Rosella, Isabella, Dorenda and Evelyn were taken suddenly in July and Agust of

1870. William Henry and Winslow Whitney died in infancy in 1885. Three living; Rev. Walter Austin Wagner, Minniapolis MI, Mrs Laura A. Lanning, Westfield MA and Mrs. Ella Major- Lehman PA. Rev. Wagner was a Civil War Vet, and was in Sherman's March to the Sea. Mr Wagner entered into the ministry in 1871 and served at the following charges- Lebanon, Mountain Top, Hanover, Wanamie, Lackawanna, Lanesboro, Gibson, Hartford, New Milford, Lehman, Avoca, Luzern, Askam, sugar Notch, Duryea, West Nanticoke, Falls, Centermoreland, Courtdale, & Maple rove . His wife died 3 years ago last Dec.

20 Mar., 1925- died- George W. Bear , prominent farmer of Hunlock Twp.= born 24 Feb., 1838 married, 6 Jan,1868 , Jane Ann Tinklepaugh . Civil War Vet, Co. C 199th PA Vol. Infantry, member of G. A. R. survived by, daughter, Mrs. Minnie B. Hatten Son , Guy Baer.
