Obit of John William Schugard

 

Hazleton Standard-Sentinel Thursday, January 25, 1923

John William Schugard, aged 60 years, a blacksmith for the past 45 years at the Hazleton No. 1 Colliery of the Lehigh Valley Coal Co., died yesterday at his home, 632 James street. He suffered from asthma for many years and last Friday he was stricken with grippe that resulted in his death. He was born in Hazleton and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Schugard. He was married in Hazleton thirty years ago and was a member of Grace Reformed church.

Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Anna Schugard, and the following children: Mrs. Frank Shellhammer, Izella, John J. Savilla, Irvin and Herman Schugard, all of Hazleton. Two grandchildren, one brother, George Schugard, of Philadelphia, and two sisters, Mrs.Henry Meiers and Miss Margaret Schugard, of Hazleton, also survive.
