Rose Grady Avoca Resident Died Monday

Sept 30 1991

Rose Grady, R.N., formerly of Hope Street, Avoca, died Monday evening at weatherly Village Nursing center, Jenkins Township, after an illness. She had resided at the center for the past four years.

Born in Avoca, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Mary Ann Gillespie McGowan. She was a graduate of Avoca High School, Lackawanna Business College, and graduated in 1932 from the Mary Keller School of Nursing, Scranton. She was employed as a registered nurse in Scranton area hospitals, prior to retiring. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Avoca, and its Alter and Rosery Society. She was also a member of Mary Keller Alumni Association.

She was preceeded in death by her husband, Patrick, in 1964; sisters Mabel, Agnes, Loretta, and Esther; brothers, Leo, Ambrose, Francis, Andrew, amd Joseph.

**Surviving are a son, Patrick, Stroudsburg; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday from the Ruane and Regan Funeral Home, 1308 Grove St., Avoca, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church

Interment was in the parish cemetery.
