Obit of Mary Adrian

Mrs. Mary Adrian, wife of Fred Adrian, Sr. died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Kern, of Mill Street, death being due to the infirmities of advanced years.

Deceased was a native of Germany and was 74 years of age. She came to this country with her family and fifty-four years ago was married to Fred Adrian and the couple began housekeeping on Mill Street, where they continue to reside.

Mrs. Adrian was a woman of strong character and possessed many admirable qualities. She was kindhearted and was always ready to assist a neighbor in time of trouble.

Besides, her husband, Fred Adrian, she is survived by children, Mrs. John Kern, and Edward H. Kern. A son, Fred Adrian, Jr., died about eight months ago. Mrs. Adrian is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was also affiliated with Harmonie Society, Hughestown.

The funeral will be held this afternoon. Brief services will be held at the home at 2 o'clock. The regular services will be held in St. John's Church at 2:30 and burial will be in the Hughestown Cemetery.

The funeral of Mrs. Mary Adrian, one of the oldest German residents of the Hughestown section, was held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Kern, on Mill Street, yesterday afternoon.

Brief services were conducted at the home at 2 o'clock, after which the body was taken to St. John's Lutheran Church, of which the deceased was a faithful member, where the regular funeral services were conducted. Rev. G.E.A. Reschke, pastor of the church, officiated. Several hymns were sung by the church choir.

Interment was in the Hughestown Cemetery. A large number of friends of the deceased were at the home and the church. Many beautiful floral offerings were about the casket.

The pall bearers were Robert Pahl, John Schwartz, August Uttrodt, Fred Kentz, Henry Huber, and Louis Weiscarger. Four grandsons carried the flowers.
