Obit of Jeanette Kuhn

Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Record Tuesday, November 19, 1901

Mrs. Peter Kuhn of Parsonage St. was summoned by death at 5:30 yesterday morning at the family home, the cause being heart failure, superinduced by an operation through which she had gone some weeks before. Her improvement since the operation was marked and her family and friends confidently anticipated early convalescence.

Mrs. Kuhn was born 53 years ago at Rainrod Germany, though she spent the greater part of her life in Pittston. She was before marriage, Miss Jeanette Conrad, sister of August Conrad of Pittston, who survives her, together with two sisters one of who resides at Sibley, Lackawanna Co., and the other in the Faderland. The deceased is also survived by her husband and children as follows: Mrs. Fred Schmidt, Scranton, Peter, Nettie, and William, all of whom reside at home.

Mrs. Kuhn was a lady of admirable qualities. In particular was she devoted to her family being a noble, sacrificing soul. With a heart pure and generous, she early in life became identified with St. John's Lutheran Church. In the work of this congregation, her labors were foremost. The funeral has been set for Friday 2 pm in the home and 2:30 pm at the Lutheran Church. The remains will be taken to Hughestown Cemetery.
