Edward D. Gower, 86, retired Lehigh Valley Railroad employee and prominent churchman, will be buried Tuesday at 2 from the home, 433 North Main street, Plains. Rev. Scott Clark of Tunkhannock will officiate with Rev. Robert Chamberlain assisting. Burial will be in Hollenback cemetery.

Mr. Gower died yesterday morning of a heart attack in the family home. He was a native of Saylorsville, Pa. but had lived in Plains since 1876. He retired as maintenance foreman at Coxton yards in 1929.

Surviving are his children: Mrs. Frank Bottomley, Carbondale; Otto, West Pittston; William, Endicott, N.Y.; Clarence, Forty Fort; Mrs. George Marshall, at home; also 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Horace Brutzman, Mechanicsville, Iowa. Five of his grandsons are in the armed forces.
