Obit of Elizabeth Conrad

Wilkes-Barre Pa. Record Wednesday, January 21, 1925

Mrs. Elizabeth Conrad, aged 74 years of 70 North Main Street, died yesterday morning following a long illness owing to advanced age. Deceased was the widow of August Conrad, and was one of the best known women in the community.

She was born August 10, 1851, the daughter of Sebastian and Anna Barbara Fisher Greesey, who came to this country in a sailing vessel and located in this community.

On October 19, 1871, she was united in marriage to Mr. Conrad, and for many years they made their home on Race Street, West Pittston.

Mr. Conrad died several years ago. Mrs. Conrad was a woman of splended character and pleasing disposition and endeared herself to all with whom she came in contact, and was active in the affairs of St. John's Lutheran Church. She leaves three daughters: Mrs. George Marsden of Pittston, Mrs. Anna Ziegler of Wilkes-Barre, and Miss Elizabeth Conrad who resided with her mother.

The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home on North Main Street, where brief services will be held, which will be continued in St. Peter's Lutheran Church by Rev. Henry Hamann.

Interment will be in West Pittston Cemetery.
