Obit of Mrs. Johanna McElhenny



Hazleton, Pa., Standard-Sentinel Tuesday, September 3, 1935

Mrs. Johanna McElhenny, of 106 North Lee Court, died at the Hazleton Hospital, at 9 o'clock Sunday after an attack of appendicitis.

Mrs. McElhenny was formerly Miss Johanna Weber, a member of one of Hazleton's oldest families and had been a life-long resident of this city.

Her husband, Cornelius McElhenny, died some years ago. Mrs. McElhenny was a member of St. Gabriel's congregation and of the Council of Catholic Women. Surviving are are four brothers and two sisters: Mrs. Elizabeth LeGrande, Chris Weber, Jacob Weber, Mrs. Anna Andes, and William J. Weber, all of this city, and Matthew Weber, of Philadelphia.

The funeral will take place on Wednesday morning, from the family home, at 9 o'clock. Solemn high mass of requiem will be offered up in St. Gabriel's church at 9:30 and interment will be made in St. Gabriel's cemetery.
