Robert A. Brader Given Promotion

X11 Air Force Service Command--Robert A. Brader, son of Mrs. Harriet Brader of 335 Market street, Berwick, Pennsylvania was recently promoted to sergeant. He is currently serving with the XII Air Force Service Command in Italy. He has also served in Africa and Sicily.

Sgt. Brader graduated from Berwick high School with the class of ‘42. He was employed by the American Car and Foundry Company in Berwick before entering the service in 1943.

PROMOTION FOR WAC MOLLIE L. KLINE

1944

Butler, Pa., October 2--Private First Class Mollie L. Kline, of 84 South Main street, Shickshinny, was promoted from private recently at Deshon General hospital here. Pfc. Kline, daughter of, is a dispatcher at the hospital motor pool. She has been in the WAC for seven months, and is assigned to the WAC detachment at the hospital.

Some Changes Made In Overseas Mailing

Aug. 22, 1944

Eight-ounce packages of candy and foodstuffs at the first class rate of postage will no longer be accepted for mailing to overseas Army Post Offices, it has been announced.

The Army in its notice to the postmaster disclosed that small articles of intrinsic value such as watches, eyeglasses and fountain pens, especially desired and not readily available overseas, must be specifically requested by the addressee. They can be registered.

The registered articles must be sealed, must bear the first class rate of postage and be prepared adequately for overseas shipment. The forwarding of money to most APO numbers is prohibited and as it is not advisable to enclose money in any letters the use of the money order service is recommended by the Post Office.

CHARLOTTE G. BOOTH ENGAGED TO LT. (JG) DAVID F. FENN

Mrs. Elizabeth M. Booth, of Broadway, announces the engagement of her daughter, Miss Charlotte Gladys Booth, to Lt. (jg) David Fisher Fenn, USNR, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Fenn, of San Diego, Calif.

Miss Booth is a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Business College and is employed by John Lucas and Company, Incorporated, Philadelphia. Lt. Fenn graduated from San Diego State College and George Williams College of Chicago, and is on duty in the Atlantic Ocean.
