Obit for ancestor Dr. Peter O'Malley was the reason I wrote to Medical Society.

Obituary for Dr. Peter J. O'Malley from Wilkes-Barre Record Times of Nov. 4, 1879:

"Dr. P.J. O'Malley will be buried this morning after a funeral service at St. John's church, which has been announced to take place at 9:30 o'clock. Several relatives of the family have arrived, among them the father of Dr. A.P. O'Malley of Wilkes-Barre. As Dr. O'Malley was a member of the Luzerne County Medical Society, that body will probably take some action respecting his death. His mother is one of those left to mourn his loss, and there are few who will feel so keenly the blow which has been struck by the hand of Death. He was her idol, and life will be very bitter without him. For several years she has made her home with her son's family, and could not be happy anywhere else."
