Raymond R. Valentine
July 18, 1925 - Jan. 13, 2011


Raymond R. Valentine, 85, of 1008 E. Washington St. passed away the evening of Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, in Jameson Hospital. Born July 18, 1925, in Butler County, he was the son of the late Emilio and Onorina Pasquarelli Valentine.

Raymond was a partner of the former Valentine's Restaurant. He was a devoted member of St. Vitus Church. He was a Navy veteran, serving in World War II. Mr. Valentine was an avid golfer and loved baseball, especially the Yankees and following Chuck Tanner's baseball career. Most important to him was spending time with his family.

Raymond is survived by a brother, Ron Valentine and wife, Carol, of New Castle; a sister, Emma Mazzocca of New Castle; a sister-in-law, Sally Valentine of New Castle; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Dewyer and Florida "Flo" Morella, and two brothers, John Valentine and Adalgiso "Ted" Valentine. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 941 S. Mill St. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at noon Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at St. Vitus Church. A procession will leave the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. for the church. The Rev. Father John Petrarulo will officiate. Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the New Castle Area Honor Guard at 11:15 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
