Virginia Fulkerson Hammond


Mrs. Virginia Fulkerson Hammond, aged 82 years, 307 Norwood avenue, died Thursday at noon, death due to a heart attack.

Mrs. Hammond was born in New Castle, June 4, 1861, daughter of Daniel and Amelia Evans McKee. Mrs. Hammond formerly lived at 1814 East Washington street and was the last of a pioneer family. Her husbands, Edward D. Fulkerson and Joseph Hammond. Both preceded her in death. Mr. Fulkerson was one of the first mail carriers in New Castle.

The deceased was a member of the Third U.P. Church.

Surviving are the following children' Roy F. Fulkerson, Edward Fulkerson, this city; Walter Fulkerson, Niles, O., Mrs. Clarence Johnston, Ellwood, City; and Mrs. R.F. Davis, this city; a step son,Howard S Hammond, this city; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:30 o'clock from the Cunningham Funeral home, East Washington and Chestnut street, Rev. C.R. Thayer in charge.

Intement will be in Greenwood cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today, 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 o'clock.
